All in all a great 1st cruise! I will definitely be going on another sometime in the future.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fast and easy. Scheduled time was 1:30-2pm. Got there at noon, and we were able to go right through.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Went to the dining room on the first night (late night dining). It was slow moving and we ended up missing a couple shows. The food was good though. The buffet had a good spread, however I could have done with less fish/seafood.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Didn't get into the pool as it was pretty full except during the shows and dining hours. The fitness center had quite the assortment of machines to use.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The music was quite loud. But there was a good variety with DJs and musicians at the different bars. The shows in the Normandie lounge were good, but again loud and lots of flashing lights.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service we received was excellent. The room stewards were always in the hallways making sure everything was just right, and we were treated like 5 star guests. The wait staff in the dining room as well as the buffet were extra attentive and there to take care of any need.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was easy to get lost with the layout due to there being 11 floors/levels on the ship.
The ship was kept in great condition. Whenever we were in port, they were doing maintenance and making sure everything looked great.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had 4 people in the cabin so it was a bit tight. Two pullman bunks and 2 twin size beds. The bathroom was decent size.
Ship tip
Download the app, because you will want the map of the ship.
Definitely a tourist trap. We were on the first boat to get into port as we were part of the VIP shopping tour. We went to a number of different jewelry stores and got free jewelry/jewels along the way.
Another tourist trap, but we got away from the port a bit. We did the Dophinaris - Dolphin Encounter with Buffet lunch. It was awesome. We got to swim with the dolphins, we were in the pool for about 45 minutes and got to pet and pose with the dolphin. After that we had an open buffet and bar. Food wasn't the greatest but the drinks had a decent amount of alcohol in them.
We were in the last group or so to disembark due to being in the cheap room. The started unloading people at 8:00am and the last people off were at about 10:30-11am.
