I had read a lot of reviews and went into it not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. Don't expect luxury on Carnival, but if you can bel ayed back and easy going, you will have fun.
Also, the New Year's Eve party was fun. Champagne was flowing and music was blaring and every one had a great time.

We arrived at our assigned time, valet and porter was right there to take care of our luggage and vehicle. We got right in linr and was on the ship within 16 minutes. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Food was fantastic. The escargots were the best I have EVER had. the only downer was the last night my chicken was not cooked all the way but was quicky replaced with my second choice. We rarely eat at the buffet as we do not like fighting for food. We eat in the dining room every night and had breakfast in the dining room every morning. The only exception was the day we were in Grand Cayman, we ordered room service as we had to be off the ship ASAP for our excursion. Food arrived as scheduled and was good.
Onboard Activities

Neither my husband nor I like ot seim so the pool does not interest us, however it looked crowded. We played mini-golf later (11:30 PM) one night and it was fun. We also too the Behind the Fun tour of the ship. It is amazing to see what goes on behind the scenes.
Entertainment

All of the shows were good with very talented singers and dancers. The comedians were very funny.
Service and Staff

Enrico, our room steward was very helpful and really took care of us with extra hangers, towels and brought our bags into the room for us.
Ship Quality

We were on this same cruise in 2016/17 and you could tell the ship needed and upgrade. Paradise was in fry-dock in February 2018 nd she is beautiful now. Everything was clean and fresh. There were no linger odors anywhere. We were very impressed with her upgrades.
Cabin / Stateroom

Select this room if you want peace and quiet and COLD air. It was wonderful. I took Lysol wipes with me since it is flu season just to wipe for germs. and the wipes were spotless when I got done. Our room was clean. The only thing I would have liked was an actual chair to sit in instead of the stool that goes to the desk.
Ship tip
Wlak around on the first day to learn where everything is at.
We cancelled our original excursion due to the scheduling change and went shopping instead. I should have done the excursion...it would have saved me a lot of money.
We too the Ultimate Island adventure. Since we don't swim we enjoyed sitting on the beach while the rest of the group snorkeled. Then we were off to San Gervasio, the Mayan ruins on the island. What an amazing place. I would have liked more time there and will go back on my own when/if I go back to Cozumel. It was then off to lunch at a local restaurant. The food was amazing. The best Chicken Mole. It was neat to immerse into the local culture for a while. Attached to the restaurant was a tequila distillery, I now know which tequila I like. The chocolate one.
