Review summary

This was my second time on the Paradise. I usually prefer bigger ships, but for an inexpensive quick trip, it was wonderful. Minus the smell, I wish I had stayed on longer. Everyone is so friendly and eager to make sure the passengers are happy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Wait staff were wonderful. Food was good but not great, but I don't expect cruise ship food to be anywhere close to a fine dining restaurant on shore.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness Center was wonderful. Spent a lot of time there to make sure I didn't gain weight from drinking. The piano bar was very enjoyable as well. What a talented pianist. Jamie did a wonderful and entertaining job in the activities that she MC'd.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not great but enjoyable.

Children's Programs

no kids this time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Carmen at the guest service desk was wonderful and very helpful. Michael was a fabulous and helpful port lecturer. This is the second cruise that I have taken where both Carmen and Michael were very friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to.

Ship Quality

Cleanliness was good. However, they were doing some renovations in the crew area and the smell of turpentine or glue was so over-whelming that I had trouble breathing in the hallways and cabin. I have MS and breathing is already an issue for me, so it made being in my cabin and going to and from very difficult. I will always in the future ask my travel agent if there are any renovations going on before I book. I spent my 20s working on a cruise ship and never experienced renovations outside of taking the ship to dry dock.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was wonderful except for the smells that were, most likely, coming from the renovations in the crew area. Perfect size for my sister and me.

Ship tip

If you can handle a no child area, go to the Serenity deck to get your sun. So peaceful watching the water at the back of the ship.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
I have always loved Grand Cayman. One of my favorite ports.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
What's not to love about Cozumel. Great shopping and wonderful people.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth. I always suggest taking your own luggage off if you can safely carry it. They have really perfected getting people off the ship quickly.
