Review summary

This was a unique opportunity to visit a place that just starts to open up for tourism from the US. After the safe and cruise line organized initial visit I now know that we could have explored Havana as well on our own.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It took longer than any other cruise we’ve been on but that was to be expected.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Great variety of foods! We were just disappinted that every day at 3PM sharp they stowe away the cake. This is when Europeans would like to enjoy their coffee/tea time!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I would have liked another opportunity for a lecture on the history of Cuba, this “new to us” island!

Entertainment

Didn’t participate

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always doing their very best to make us feel welcome! They work so very hatd and I wish they didn’t have to do these silly dances in the dining room! That’s so degrading and makes me as a guest not feel good.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It’s an older ship, so of course the layout is a little more confusing.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Ocean View # U21 We like being in the front of the ship as there is less traffic and seems more quiet. The room was spacious. We were able to move our beds along sides the walls in an L- shape which freed up all the space in the middle of the room.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

HAVANA, CUBA

As expected! Long lines and no air condition!

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Took way too long to get off the ship

Yes, there is a lot of confusion about that, and the P2P "requirements". I finally quit listening to all the "we heard" and "we were told" comments, and went straight to the horse's mouth: OFAC. Now we're not worried in the least about doing our own thing there. We are looking forward to our visit in May, especially since Paradise will be fresh out of dry dock.
