My cruise was very disappointing. I was so excited and drove to Florida from NC. I just knew it would be my best experience. It wasn't. At every turn I was let down and irritated. From poor boat cinditions, bad service, bad foid to a bad excursion. The cruise was poor. Im thinking of Royal Caribbean.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Getting on the boat was pretty swift and simple. I had no complaints. It was one of the best embarkations I ever had
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The lines were long. The food was not to standard. The first night was horrible. Salads were hot food was cold in Elations dining room. We settled for pizza. Captains night was great, but I was shocked that lobster tail was an upcharge. The next night the food was ok, not great just ok. We stopped the maitre dee to tell him. He thanked us for the info nothing more. The last night. The food experience was horrible. We waited 45 mins to sit. 1 hr to get our entrees. Our waiter was visibily being overworked and it upset me
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
I was bored. The majority of activities was about selling something. Not actual fun. Even then sales were not as good for alcohol. And some sales were misrepresented. For ex: the Belina bracelets were out all cruise for $20. Then there was a Belina sale on the last day. I go thinking there would be a sale or a buy 4 get one. Nope....just $20 bracelets
Entertainment

I enjoyed the shows ALOT. But the DJ played the exact same musical set everynight!. I and my friends was able to say the next song to be played. We were told NO when requesting songs in the club.
Service and Staff

They were nice but not as effective. I asked for a fan never got a response. My room was 73.5. I
was told this was standard. My ac was on the coldest and barely meeting standard. I was sweating and uncomfortable, so was everyone else on our floor. Carmen, in Guest Services gave us a few comps, that helped make us feel a little better. Waiters worked hard, but you could sense something was off.
Ship Quality

Though the boat was very clean. It was OLD. The decor was that of the 70s. You had to climb in the pools with metal bars around. It was not comfortable to get in. There were only 2 pools. One was suppose to b for adults, again it was hard to get in, and it was covered with kids. The adult area only didnt have anything but hot tubs and was small. On previous boats the spa deck was huge and there was 2 adult areas. Chairs were broken in the comdey club. One elevator was broke the whole cruise. The ship its3lf lost an engine, so we couldnt go to Grandcayman.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was clean and Victor helped, but the room was SMALL. It also was HOT.
It was the same as Puerto Maya, but it wasnt all I hoped. The excursion I took was very disappointing. I cant swim. I stressed this on my excursion. I asked about the snorkeling trip. I asked if the snorkeling was shallow and could I stand in the sand. I was told yes. We got there and the water was 25 feet to 30 feet deep. I could have put on a lifevest and could not swim, but as a petson who cant swim AT ALL its petrifing. I felt like I couldnt breath. I ended up sitting out. Then we only got an hour and half on the beach. The way it was explained to me and my friends, we would go to the destination for 3.5 hours and we could snorkel, play volleyball, play other games, etc. This was not the case.
The fantasy class ships are not the ones to go on. their small and don't have a lot of offer. try the Conquest, Dream or Vista class ship, you'll truly enjoy them! Cheers 😎
Sorry you did not enjoy your cruise. Paradise in an older ship, and a smaller ship. Check out a different class of Carnival's ships. We've never had anything but excellent experiences with Carnival.
