Review summary

I think the ship is overdue for improvements and updating. Things are old and broken and it just looks like the bottom of the barrel cruise ship. I've been on it before but I don't remember it being quite like this. I did notice a change In service staff though. My first sailing on Paradise was awesome and we were very pleased with the crew, especially our housekeeper. He was amazing! This time, however, we were a bit disappointed. It was obvious that most of them didn't want to be there because they never smiled and some were flat out rude in the dining hall. I felt like they just wanted us to leave as soon as possible. We weren't trying to spend a lot of time in there but I felt rushed. Food was pretty nasty for room service. Dining room food was pretty good. Cruise director seemed unprepared and she was boring.  Shows were ok.

Went to Costa Mays because the boat had issues. We all had to cancel an awesome excursion in Grand Cayman.

I dont understand how old the ship is that will make a cruise disappointing. The ship is not what make the person have fun, its what, whom, and you what makes you have a great time. Ive read alot of post cruisers complain about the decor, rust, and etc. Ive seen it too an it didnt stop me an my family from having a great!

Bubbatonya...... the surcharge is for Lobster or the good steak.   the American table has a "Flat Iron steak" on it that is free,  not great but free.

Sounds like you just missed Brandon, the cruise director prior. We had him in November on Paradise and loved him. I believe he's on break and will be back on her in April. Otherwise, even though she is an older ship, we knew that in advance and still had a blast!

I just heard that there is a surcharge for steak at the dinners, do you know of this. I will be devastated because my husband only eats steak on cruises
