Review summary

I enjoyed this cruise back in October and would have given it 5 stars back then   I tend to spend a lot of money in the spa and casino I really enjoy pampering myself and my wife while on vacation. This trip however was a bit different. I always get the drink packages because I like to have a little more fun than others so I did again this time. I also like to partake on embankments to enjoy another country's fair. However upon re entry someone decided to cut me off in Cozumel and I suppose put me on a list that I wasn't to be served anymore indefinitely

I was appalled there was no take a break fella we will talk to you in an hour or so it was just shut off.  Mind you I hadn't had a drink from my package that day because Cozumel was an early embarking of which I was offered no refund. Of course this didn't stop me from getting more drinks I had fortunately made plenty of friends who either got me drinks off their package or purchased them on my behalf so it really didn't set me back any it was just the point. The part that really pissed me off was no communication until a request was made the next morning then I had to wait like a child until someone could see us. THen they made me fill out a form saying something like it was my fault or basically letting them off the hook with some bs statement that they pretty much coached me into writing but what was I supposed to do not enjoy my last day. In other words 1 person has the ability to make a decision to ruin one of your days on your vacation without any consolation what a joke. I doubt I will consider this cruise line ever again knowing how they treat people with the judgement of one person. Need I say again I probably drank more after the cut off than before and nobody was hurt no fights no nothing...

also I spent over 4K on the boat in extras. Guaranteed that I was in the minority of people who spent that much in spa em entities and such. Major mistake on their part not bringing in a few more opinions. The food was ok the the service not as good as October just a major let down. And to this point nobody from carnival has reached out to refund that days package or apologize and I'm not the kind to call them and complain for I don't have that kind of time. This email has been sitting here for weeks and I finally decided to share don't want this experience happening to anyone else

I worked 13 years in Customer Service at a very famous resort in central Florida run by a mouse, and in those 13 years I have heard A LOT.  I agree with the previous post that said that the OP was probably visibly drunk from the Cozumel excursion.  The ship (as well as any bar) has the right to refuse service.  They probably refused the service because the guest seemed visibly drunk or slurred their speech.  For the guests safety and the safety of those around them, they refused service.  As for the group that got sick, I don't see how getting sick is the fault of the cruise line.  When people are on vacation they eat more, drinks more and more often then not they don't drink enough water or use enough sunscreen.  In addition since this ship went to Mexico did they drink the water in Mexico? Did they heed the warnings of not drinking the water. In Mexico I would ONLY drink bottled water or distilled water from trusted sources and if bottled, from a SEALED container.  They may have gotten sick from the intense sun, not staying hydrated and eating foods or more food then one normally would eat.  These are all contributing factors so I don't see how Carnival is solely responsible for them getting sick and quite frankly don't owe you anything other than saying that they are sorry they got sick.

As a drinker myself I am trying to see this from both sides perspective. It sounds you were visibly drunk upon returning to the ship. Perhaps slurred speech, possibly not 100% in control. No judgement, you were on vacay. From the ships perspective they need to consider safety, and during an emergency or worst case scenario they have a drunk on their hands. If you continued drinking on board, any number of things could occur, from their perspective. I can understand questioning the cut off beyond that day but can only assume once they know someone can consume excess alcohol, perhaps a 15 drink per day package is not such a great idea, from their perspective. If this were an airline they wouldn't let you board at all. So while I can see things from your perspective I can also understand their reasoning.

I do have to agree this past cruising was a little disappointing. I had a group of 27 people, doesn't sound like alot but it is lol. 20 of those people were sick in there rooms the last day into getting off the ship, I contacted carnival and all I got was I'm sorry. I tried to explain to them on the 3rd day of cruising my group booked another trip for next march and if I could get everyone's deposits back after being sick for the last basically 2 days I would cancel our bookings.. the bad part is that a few of my clients needed medical assistance and giving details in regards to this situation so they could research this to prove I was not lying about this. they still offered no solution just an apology.
