Review summary

the dinner menu needs to be updated.  the shows were not appealing to everyone...  the buffet was not good, not appealing to everyone... you are taking southern passengers to other parts of the world... they need to have southern food. most work and don't have time for good southern comfort food.  more shopping for children on board... grandparents want gifts to take back to grandchildren.

Sorry the food was not to your liking. I'm a Southerner and I like to try different foods when I am on vacation. I leave the comfort foods, as you call them, for home. I have cruised with several lines and I have never seen southern comfort foods on them.

P.S. I have never had a bad meal on Carnival and my first cruise was in 2000 and my next is in 5 months. Always has ben fantastic!

I have always cruised with Carnival out of CA and they serve Indian food at every lunch and dinner, out of the sit down restaurant, but it is not on the menu. All you have to do is ask and they usually have it prepared. Thats if you like Indian food, which I love. There are a lot of Indian people that cruise and due to, I am just assuming, their religious beliefs, they offer this for them. Not sure, but I bet if you ask for something special, even ahead of time, for example going to the matre'd and requesting a southern style meal, I dont doubt they would not accomodate you somehow. I have never been let down by the chefs on any cruise I have been on. They have been so accomodating. If you don't ask, you will never know.

First cruise? Cause most want to complain Carnival food is too "low brow" I don't think you'll find a better selection of comfort food on other cruise lines.
