This was a very relaxing cruise on an older, smaller ship. It does not have everything that the larger, newer ships have to offer, but our intent was to relax, and enjoy what was there. Our cabin was better than expected, as were the professional portraits that were taken on-board. Everything else met our expectations. The only thing that did not meet our expectations was that there was no self-serve pop machine. All soda had to be ordered at the bar. It was no big deal, and since that was the only thing that didn't meet our expectations, we had an absolutely wonderful time!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was very good in the dinning rooms, and in the buffets. It did not quite reach the level of the newer, larger ships with their offerings, but delicious none the less.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We enjoyed the pool, whirlpool, and decks, not much else in the way of onboard activities interested us.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We did not attend the entertainment, as it was a smaller ship, and could only offer a few things at a time. What was offered did not interest us. We enjoyed relaxing instead.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
No children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our waiters and waitresses (especially George and Shirley) were awesome! Our cabin attendant was excellent as well, although I can't remember his name right now.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Being a smaller, older ship, it's layout took a while getting used to. I was surprised at how few levels we were able to walk around the exterior of the ship. The jogging track requires 11 laps for one mile
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We did not expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was about what we expected, but the bathroom was larger than expected, and the shower was much larger than expected, and with very good hot water and water pressure. This cabin was fantastic
I was under the impression that Carnival NO longer allows you to bring your own soda or water:( you may want to read further into this or call Carnival to make sure. They will make you leave it at check-in.
We did a cash account and added money daily at guest services ..I also went onto the carnival.com cruise manager and set the spending accounts for the kids. You can set it to where the kids do not have purchasing privileges.
You can take 12oz can sodas on the ship w you. It'll save you from buying the ones on the boat and you can control what they are drinking. Just an idea...
I'm glad you had a wonderful time, we are going on this ship July 9th with 3 teens and can't wait! I was wondering, can we pay cash for the sodas at the bar or do we need to use the sail and sign card? thanks! Tami

Carnival allows soda or water in a can, just no more bottled water or soda.
