Review summary

You get what you pay for. Food was below average, room was filled with stench of cigarette smoke. Half the staff looked miserable in their jobs. not the levbel of service you would expect. Cozumel is a washed up commercial tourist site-overall as stated--Mediocre at best

Just came back 2 weeks ago and I had a wonderful time. Had an ocean view cabin and it was great no trace of cigarette smoke inside the room or hallways. The only place you get the smell of course is by the casino. For us the food was good with lots to choose from. And the crew was amazing. especially the dinning crew. if people is so accustomed to more luxurious service and ships why on earth are you sailing on the Paradise. First clue is the price, second if you just do a little research you can get all the info about how this ship is old and do not have all the bells and whistles of newer ships. If after informing yourself you go and still decide to go on this cruise then don't complain about it. You are still getting a great price ,free food, free entertainment. You really need to worry and be outrageously upset if you spent a fortune in one of the expensive cruise lines and then you get poor service. I'm with you when you said "you get what you paid for". Just, dont complain when you get it.

weird, that paradise its one of the ship carnival has with more good to excellent reviews everywhere, and I guess the only ship that has an actual very active group on acebook with thousands of members.

Yes, definitely get away from the cruise ports. Cozumel has some very nice areas.

I've been to Cozumel several times and it is far from washed up. Rent a car or take a day trip and you will see some wonderful ruins and spectacular coastal areas!

I had issues with this ship also in April 2015. Was really below what I thought Carnival standards were. Maybe it will get an update soon. It really does need it. All of our other Carnival Cruises have been fantastic.
