Review summary

The Carnival Paradise was a good experience overall. The Carnival line does tend to have more families with young children on it, which may affect your decision to travel on it or another cruise line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The buffet menu was varied daily, and had lots of choices for all diets and food categories. Servings in the dining room were well sized, plenty to eat but not so huge that you either stuffed or felt guilty leaving a lot. Service was excellent.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
More free exercise classes would have been nice. The comedy acts were outstanding, and the variety shows were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Most staff were very friendly. The cruise directoor's staff could be more friendly and visit more with quests.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Crew did a great job of keeping everything clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had 3 people in a stateroom, and were comfortable. There was adequate hanging space and drawers. Staff were great about cleaning and seeing to every need.

Ports of call

Ensenada, Mexico

La Bufadora is a must, and the shopping is good.

Catalina Island, California

3 out of 5

Pros: The food was delicious, menu selection was nicely varied, had choices for special diets. and was presented attractively. Hot foods were hot, and cold foods were cold. The shows were varied, high energy, and very entertaining.

Cons: Many of the games were TV or music related, some more variety would have been nice.
