Review summary
My husband, two sons (age 6 and 3) and I went on our first cruise together. The stateroom was almost perfect. The kids slept in pull down bunks which they loved because they had to use ladders to climb up. The only problem was that the TV could not be viewed from one of the lower beds when the bunks were in the sleeping position. The room was always well maintained by the staff and the kids loved the chocolate mints left behind every night. I appreciated the Carnival Capers so that I could learn what was going on on the ship and make plans. My kids went to Camp Carnival many times and they enjoyed themselves. The first night the staff really put the kids at ease with some signing and dancing and participation games. After that, it was easy for us to leave the kids off - we felt confident they were in good hands and the kids were not clinging to us begging not to be left off. Camp Carnival had a great written "caper" as well so that I could plan kid's activities and adult activities at the same time. The food was very good and I appreciated ordering lots of food that I would never have at home. I especially appreciated the cold soup available at each meal (gazpacho, strawberry bisque, mango cream and vissycoise). To me, the ship and being on board were more fun and worth while than the shore excursions. Very good time for all four of usPorts of call
Pros: Camp Carnival for kids
Cons: Debarking ship before 9am (a bit too early for my liking)
