Carnival Paradise

4 Night Baja Mexico (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 02, 2007

Ship: Carnival Paradise

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 14 years ago

Review summary

This is an older Carnival ship but for the price and amenities, it was worth it. It was the relaxing short vacation our family needed.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
We hiked up to the Botanical Garden but for $5 a person, didn't go in. We had been to 2 other botanical gardens in the Los Angeles area during the week. The Conservation Nature area on the way to the garden was free and well worth the films on what they did to the great number of buffalos on the island.
Don't Miss: The walk to the Casino is easy and pretty, lined with beautiful tiles.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
We spent very little time there. Not much to do if you've been to other areas of Mexico and Central or South America as we have been. Tried to get into the internet cafe which is much, much less expensive then the one on the ship, but there was only one we could find and it was filled up with Carnival employees emailing home, I guess. Also, don't spend the $2 bus ride to the shopping area, it's within walking distance.
Don't Miss: nothing
