This was sour first time taking a cruise and it had its good and bad as any vacation can. But this is defiantly going to help us plan any future trips or cruises. Bring lots of patience and try to have a blast.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
could be better, but it wasnt as bad as I read in other reviews. They were not as organized as I thought they would be, they didnt call the numbers like they said they would. We had to go ask an attendant if we were allowed to get off, it wasnt until we were almost to the door when they made an announcement. I will highly recommend bringing your luggage with you instead of checking it in the night before. Also make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of patience. .
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We did the dinning room once, very disappointed. The food amount was very tiny and it didnt have any flavor. So the rest of the trip we ate at the main dinning hall or pool side restaurants. But be careful what we eat and how long its been sitting out. Other than that, the desserts and fruit was to die for.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Dion was a blast, I 100% loved his energy ! I thought some of the activities should have been done on different days but overall we had a good time.
Entertainment
we didnt check out any of the entertainment.
Children's Programs
no children in our group
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Nino our housekeeper super was awesome. Very pleasant and friendly. We had a chance to talk to him a little and he was very nice and great to talk to.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
the ship was for the most part, there were a couple times where you saw cobwebs here and there. But overall it was clean. The elevators are the hardest to get used to, even after a week on the ship I still got lost. And I would recommend more maps throughout the ship because sometime you were not close to an elevator.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Not sure how we ended up with 2 bathrooms but it was cool. The room was very spacious and we had lots of room to walk around and move about our cabin
Ship tip
The elevators are crazy weird and takes time to adjust to them, and I would recommend getting your room closer to the pool cause you will be doing a ton of walking .
very unorganized staff, we stood and waited for a very long time and finally had to go ask if we our group could get off to find out that they already had. So if we hadnt asked, we would have not gotten off when we did and probably missed out shuttle to the airport.
Since this was our first time, as most of you seasoned travelers know there is a learning curve. Even though thr dinning room wasn't our thing, we definitely utilized the other wonderful food spots on the ship. The pizza and taco stations were definitely on top of our list. But I did like that the dinning hall had a large selection everyday
Great review and welcome to cruising. There is definitely a learning curve in this type of vacation. In the Main Dining Room, the meals are intentionally small. A lot of people are not very hungry after a day of all you can eat food and many seniors don’t eat a lot. This keeps waste and the cost of our cruise down. The positive is that you can order multiple appetizers, main entrees, and deserts so if you can’t leave hungry. Cruise food is typically a little bland for our American fast food, high salt pallets. Many people can’t have a lot of salt or spice so they make it bland. You can always add salt and pepper and that will excite almost all food. You will always find dishes you like and don’t like. Sounds like you happen to find the one you didn’t like the first visit. If you don’t like it, don’t eat it and order something else. They are happy to accommodate. Please give the MDR another try.
