At the end of the day, I was happy to be on a cruise. The spa treatments were excellent (when I could get an appointment), but the food was terribly disappointing. I understand that Carnival may be considered to be a more budget-friendly cruise, but feel that the line could do much better with quality and selection.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The lines were very long, but moving. It still took over an hour to navigate. The temperature in the cruise terminal, however, was unbearable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food on this cruise was the most disappointing I have ever experienced in my many cruises.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
2 out of 5
The stage shows were moved/canceled. We walked out on the comedian on the last night. Let's face it, "dick jokes" are low hanging fruit (pun intended) and are especially annoying when they are just not funny.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were very friendly.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The ship is looking a little tired and could use some maintenance/painting, etc. The location of the spa is poor. There is a busy thoroughfare between the doors to the treatment room. Also, the noise level coming from the fitness room prevents the treatments from being quietly relaxing.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was kept clean. There was only one chair on the balcony for a party of two. The bed was VERY COMFORTABLE.
I've been to Ensenada before. We took the lobster lunch excursion. The lunch was good, but the tour guide was more interested in speaking of his own experience than the history of the area.
