Review summary

We had a great time on the cruise. The best part of the cruise was the Chef's Table experience. It was well worth the cost. The food was fabulous.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We bought the Faster to the Fun add-on. We arrived about 15 minutes later than our assigned arrival time, but were on the ship within 15 minutes from the time we entered the building.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good. I'm not a fan of the main dining room. We use the dine on our time, so we get different wait staff each time and the level of service varies. There was only one evening when we were asked for a drink order. The main course meal wasn't anything special. The burger and taco places were great and the pizza station is awesome.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
We spent most of the time on the serenity deck for adults. Nobody used the pool because it was freezing and the hot tub was always over-crowded. After using the Vibe on Norwegian Cruise Line, I'm spoiled.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows nightly stage shows were great. The comedians that Carnival uses are awesome. One of them was too raunchy, (to the point that people walked out (ourselves included) before he started as the second set for the night. But, I can't complain too heavily since they give plenty of warning about the adult content.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Ship personnel were super friendly and helpful. I was disappointed that our room was only cleaned once per day. This can be difficult on port days when you come back to clean up and the tiny bathroom is a mess when you come back at the end of the evening. We only saw a steward 2-3 times during the whole cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship layout is great and it was very clean. It's not the newest and biggest class of cruise ship, which is why I gave it one less star. It would be better to have co-ed saunas at the spa. We would have used it more often if we could have spent time together in the spa.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I wish a cruise line would offer wider rooms without charging a fortune for them.

Ship tip

I noticed that the wait times at the bars were much longer when there was entertainment occurring. If you want to get a drink faster, walk around the corner to a quiet bar and pick up your drinks. If you don't want to wait long for a drink, avoid the Alchemy Bar. The drinks are very complicated and take awhile for the bartenders to make.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Disembarkation

Don't buy the Faster to the Fun add-on for early debarkation has no value if buy an excursion through Carnival. People taking Carnival excursions get priority status to get on the tenders.

To butlerp5, yes. Both the sauna and steam room are free.

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great time. I agree, I loved the twice a day room service but definitely understand why it had to change.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. The once per day room service was in the works before the shutdown. I agree it can be frustrating. Glad you MOSTLY enjoyed your cruise.
