Review summary

Overall good cruise. We had been promising our grandson a cruise since about the time covid arrived. Had 3 cancelations before making it on this one. We celebrated his 15th birthday on this cruise. We didn't partake in many activities. Just wanted to relax and play in the pool, even though weather was cool. Grandson loved the pizza and cheeseburger from Guy's. Ship's staff were great and liked to engage in conversation when not too busy.

Embarkation

Sunburn while waiting to board. We were boarded about an hour later than requested time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Wait staff were great upon arrival then seemed to forget us. Long wait between finishing meal and receiving desert.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only went to one show. First time Platinum so attended the VIFP party. No big deal there other than free drinks :) The pools were not overly crowded. The hot tubs were crowded at times but we never use them so not a problem for us.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
There were "technical difficulties" for the show we attended, previous show had been cancelled while they tried to fix the problem. Instead of full production we were presented with song and dance with no set or costume changes.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Indran, was fantistic and fun to speak with. Filled the ice bucket twice a day for us. Overall the staff was super throughout the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Continual cleaning. Ship is very easy to find where you need to go.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean with good view from balcony. I heard that new lamps were going to installed while in drydock with USB charging ports. Not confirmed.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

We grabbed a taxi to the zoo.. Cost was about $14 plus tip each way. Enjoyed a cart tour and walking around zoo.

San Francisco, California

5 out of 5
I rated 4 due to parking availability. No cruise parking at all. Dependant mostly on privately owned parking lots. Parking 5 blocks away was $25 a day for our full sized SUV.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
Shuttle into town for shopping. More ceramics for the yard.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Was a lot smoother than embarkation.
