Review summary

I booked this cruise because I was so ready to be back on a ship. I was very pleasantly surprised with the Miracle and am booked to sail on her again.

Embarkation

We unitetionally arrived about an hour before our appointed check-in time so we were asked to form a line. No problem. After a while, they started letting us in and the process was quite smooth and quick. Then we sat in the waiting area for approximately 20 minutes until they called out boarding group and we were on the ship!

Food and Dining

The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because Carnival is letting passengers serve themselves in the buffet and to me, that is a huge mistake, especially with things being how they are right now. One other thing that bothered me is that no one was washing their hands before entering the buffet. There is a sink with soap and water but people walked right by it.

Nick & Nora's Steakhouse

I took advantage of an offer I received from Carnival stating that if I booked the steakhouse on the first night, I would get a bottle of wine. Sounded good to me! I paid for my reservation and then didn't think about it again until it was time for dinner. Unbeknownst to me, my friend had also made a reservation for herself so when I saw her at the door, I asked if we could be seated together. My steak was FABULOUS. There is no other way to describe it. Everything was very good except the mashed potatoes but that's just a personal preference. I don't care for whipped mashed potatoes but I'm sure there are plenty of people that do so I am not taking off a star for that. The reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because they declined to give us each a bottle of wine. Their reason? Only one bottle of wine per table. Mind you, we did not make our reservations together, nor had we planned to have dinner together. I should have pressed the issue and asked to be seated at another table. I don't think that was fair of them.

We spent our time on the Serenity Deck and loved it.

My room steward wasn't very through. My bathroom looked dirty when I checked in to my room but I chalked it up to the ship being older. And then I found out he didn't clean my friend's cabin (next door) very well...there were still clothes in the closet from the previous passenger. And yes, it's minor, but neither one of us got our free water bottle or sailing pin.

Ship Quality

This is a very unique ship. Prior to this, my last two cruises were on the Panorama and the Bliss so I wasn't sure if I would like this smaller ship but it was great! So many cool areas to explore and hang out in.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

I was in cabin 4221 but for some reason, I can't enter that information above. Cabin was great.

Ship tip

Very impressed with all of the food choices on this ship. Try to sample as many as you can.

One thing we have learned for the Buffet is after you fix your plate, before starting to graze, wash your hands again! The people who don’t wash there hands before entering the buffet also may not have washed them after the restroom🤮. You have to take care of yourself! Can’t wait to Cruise in January!

Appreciate your feedback. I understand that you have to go to pics to get your pin and someplace else for the water. I agree that you should have gotten your bottle of wine since you were not in the same cabin. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of the the little things.

Agreed 100% on sanitation. I'm not a germaphobe but do wash before eating. Carnival is insane with not asking people to wash or use sanitizer before touching utensils in the buffet. They are asking for a Noravirus outbreak not to mention covid.

I completely agree with you on the handwashing protocol. They really need to emphasize this more like other cruiselines do. I appreciate the "washy, washy" reminders. Sailing on the Miracle next week over Halloween weekend. 🎃
