Review summary

We are thrilled to be able to cruise again and will probably look for more Carnival cruises that go to these same three ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went smooth and quick using the VeriFLY app. We arrived at Port Canaveral at 10:00am for our 10:30 boarding expecting to wait but we were told to continue in. We completed our security checks and were seated inside at 10:15 waiting for our boarding pass number to be called. We stepped into the ship at 11:18 am.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed all of the included dining options that were available without any extra charges.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the hot tub near Guy’s Pig and Anchor BBQ. The Serenity area was also relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed the 80’s Rock & Glow Party on the pool deck area. Our Cruise Director, Simon London, was involved in this and all of the shows we attended and really added great fun to all of them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All of the stage shows were very entertaining and enjoyable. The outside deck music added to the cruise vacation atmosphere that we enjoy. Our Cruise Director, Simon London, made a great effort to amplify all of the fun and made our cruise that much more enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the ships staff were always friendly and welcoming. Our stateroom attendant, Samsuri, from Indonesia, did a great job keeping our cabin fresh and clean and always asked if we needed anything else.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Carnival Magic was clean and had a great layout with plenty of areas to be in the middle of the action or to be away from it in a quieter relaxing area when desired. The food venues had plenty of seating and we always found a window seat when eating except for the first meal on embarkation day and our 6 pm early dining.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cleanliness and size of our cabin was great for my wife and I. This was our 8th cruise but our first front forward cabin. The bed was very comfortable. The AC seemed weak at first but the door was probably open a lot while the crew cleaned and prepared for our cruise boarding. Once we unpacked and went out to enjoy the ship the AC cooled the room way down and kept it cool and comfortable the entire cruise. There is a open front deck right outside our window that felt like our private are balcony. The one bigger issue we had was the noise of the waves hitting the ship and reverberating through the cabin walls. It sounded like the Jurassic Park movie when the rumbling dinasour steps are heard as they approached. This was on the third night of our cruise. The slight rocking of the ship is relaxing to us but we didn’t sleep well on that third night. The other nights we smooth enough to sleep comfortably. Just sometimes consider when choosing a cabin. We usually try to get a middle ship deck seven location but we’re upgraded to this cabin. The location was great other than the wave sound issues we had one night. Please excuse the typos as I cannot view the bottom of the screen as I th type.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation went faster that I could have imagined. We did express and carried our luggage. We were in our vehicle and ready to go at 7:30am.
