We attended one show the last one. It was average.

Service and Staff

Guest Services (GS) was the worse. Zhanna came to our cabin with another staff aid. She said the ship’s motion caused the used water back up through the shower drain. Plumbers came 3 times and were unable to resolve the problem. Jessica from(GS) newly appointed to this position. No one else saw the seriousness of the problem. They would sanitize the bathroom. We had to ask for the shower curtain to be replaced. It had a ring around the bottom from the blockage. They replaced it with a curtain that was too short. Another return that required we be there while they were trying to clear the shower drain. When we ran the water in the sink it bubbled back up the shower. For compensation we were offered a bottle of wine. It was never delivered.

My grade was due to the unsanitary conditions in our bathroom. I videoed the water bubbling back up in the shower. The Common Areas were clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Again my low grade was due to a plumbing problem for the last 3 days on Magic. Zhanna did not accept ownership of this severe problem. Every time the plumbers were done a Housekeeping crew came in to clean and disinfect.

Compensation was $25 per Guest. Our Group was shocked. I have videos of the sewage backup. Since the staff saw it happening they opted not to include it. I recently noticed they were shutdown and dry docked for contamination reasons. NO SURPRISE!

That is no fun when a problem occurs. Good to hear they tried real hard to fix it even if it took three trips from the plumber. Plumbing issues on a ship are almost always caused by people flushing things they should not, i.e. anything other than TP and what comes out of your body. Flushable wipes and feminine hygiene products are the usual culprits. It doesn't even have to have been flushed by you, it could be your neighbors. Often hard to find and clear the blockage. Not sure why the customer service lady should have to "own" the problem. She didn't flush it.

Returned from a 7 day on the Magic last Monday. We had rooms on 8 and 1. We didn't have the issues described. Guest services was responsive, effective. The six of us had a thoroughly enjoyable week. In short your mileage may vary, but we were well pleased with the Magic.
