We usually cruise with other family members but this time it was my son and my daughter and her family. So it was exciting and fun for me. Like what my review title says, it is not the ship but the people you are with that makes a cruise memorable. It was a very wonderful experience for my family.

Service and Staff

The waiters on the MDR, esp. Allan were all very good and attentive.
Our room steward is just ok. He was nice and greets us always but I don’t think the rooms were cleaned very well.
Ship Quality

The ship’s layout is fine. Except for the sewer smell on deck 2’s hallways, the common areas are clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

The sewer smell everyone has been talking about is very apparent on deck 2. Our cabin didn’t have the smell, but when you walk in the hallways, it was bad.
Our room didn’t have a refrigerator. The steward said fridge was removed for several cabins on that deck. No explanation was given. My daughter’s cabin which is right next to us and my son’s which is across us both have theirs. Our room didn’t even have an ice bucket. When I asked for the steward to always make sure we have ice, he puts it in the white bucket that they give at lido deck when you order a bucket of beer.
The room wasn’t very well cleaned when we first came. I could tell because I wiped everything first and you can see the dirt from the wipes.
Our room wasn’t vacuumed the entire time. The sand we brought in from the beach in Nassau, was still in the carpet when we left. I hope they did before the new passengers came in on our debarkation day.
I loved Cocoa beach. Next time we have to sail out of here, we plan to stay a few days before to enjoy the beach and the town. I loved the port building too. Nice and big. We had to wait for the boarding but it was not an inconvenience because there were a lot of chairs and the facilities were clean and nice. It is one of the best ports we have sailed out of.
We did a city tour with a guy whom another cruiser recommended. He goes by the name Frankie Bahama. He was nice and informative, he took us to places that the carnival excursions don’t go to. He was a local so he knows a lot. He took us all over the island so I feel like I’ve seen it all. He made us all feel safe.
I would recommend that tour. I have his cell phone number, so if anybody wants it, just PM me.
