Review summary

I love this cruise line but they do not know anything about venezuelan passports. It's unbelievable the fact that they are required to check passports and visas and they do not know the regulations or are not up to date with the new regulations. Venezuelans are allowed to enter the country with an expired passport (up to five years after the expiration date) and it is not something we made up, neither is something that the officials said a few days ago. Here is the article https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1411?language=en_US And still, they don't know what I am talking about. When I told them "check the USCIS article about Venezuelan passports" their answer was "We do not do that". So what do you base your decision of letting someone on a passport or a Visa travel or not? Are they telling me they do not check the government's website to make sure they are doing the right thing? It is the 2nd time this happens with Carnival. And this time they almost didn't let me in. I had to find the article for them and make my case. It is very annoying this issue is not solved by now. If you have a company that has to deal with passports and visas, just make sure you and your staff are aware of the regulations. And if you made someone wait more than the time they were supposed to wait and it was your fault, at least apologize.

Do the other countries you're cruising to allow an expired passport? Get a valid passport. 🙄

Get an updated passport..

A current passport would resolve any issues.

Um...get a new passport. Or is it your intention to wait out the 5 years and complain every time you travel? I have a US passport, and I make sure it is current even if I'm only traveling in the US.

Yes, but in the documents you agreed to (cruise contract must be checked in order to get your boarding pass), to board in the USA, your passport must be current and won’t expire within 6months. If you already had this issue, you were aware of the requirement! This is your responsibility not the cruise line’s!
