Review summary

Worst cruise ever. Old dirty ship. Bad smells. Hot decks & elevators. Horrible layout. Staff apathetic. Snail crawling through my salad!

Food and Dining

Golden Olympian Restaurant

On night 3 there was a live snail crawling through my salad. I reported it to the waitress, who just took my plate & ran away. Nobody ever attempted to apologize to me. 830pm the next night they called my room to ask if I wanted to come back?!

Deli

1 out of 5

Both times the wait was over 30 minutes. The staff was so disorganized. They didn't know who's order was who's. They left one person's order just sitting, getting cold, until the person's order before her was ready. The staff didn't seemed very apathetic.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Activities were very trivia heavy. Not much to do besides trivia, pool, casino/bingo/deal or no deal.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Was only able to see one show. The performers were very good. The music was painfully loud. I heard other guests saying the same thing. The storyline was confusing in my opinion.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The least friendly staff I've ever encountered. Most staff didn't even acknowledge you. I only saw my room steward once. I was on the cruise on my birthday and the only staff member to acknowledge my birthday was the jewelry store staff who used it to attempt to sell me jewelry.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The layout is horrendous. The mdrs are in the middle of the floor with popular venues on either side. I saw many guests confused about how to get somewhere because of this. There were regularly smells of sewage (fans in the halls confirms it was a known problem), diesel, or burning wiring. My balcony was very rusty & the table/chairs were unclean. I had to put a towel on the chair before I sat in it. The flowers lobby & the elevators were always hot.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Cabin is old. Marks on walls. Bed is not at all supportive. Balcony door was the worst. So heavy to open & slammed every time it closed. Balcony was small & very dirty.

Ship tip

Don't do it. There are better options

I was on this ship in Feb. 2022 (My 1st cruise), the ship was very clean , the staff were awesome, and the food was good. I had a blast!! I'm doing it again.

Sorry that was a typo. It was a slug, not a snail. I did not eat it fortunately since that can cause some pretty serious diseases.

Did you eat it? Snails are a delicacy 😜

We went on this ship in 2017 as a last minute and we liked the main dining room food and Guy burgers/fresh tacos on pool deck. If you don't just want to drink and sun bath not much to do.

Oh no ! I went on it back in OCT 2018 and it was fine so I booked a trip on it for Nov hope everything will be ok really as long as the bars are open and booze is flowing I’ll be fine

Actually, this is my 2nd post-covid cruise. I've also been on longer cruises. Covid & length of cruise are no excuse for potential food poisoning in my opinion. But thanks for your response.

Oops 😬

Thanks for the review. Sounds like cruising post-Covid isn’t for you. A newer ship on a 7 day or more itinerary may be a better option.
