Review summary

Enjoyed the post Covid cruise. The good side of Covid is that it made the cruise lines adjust some things. Embarkation and debarkation are easier and the only time that masks are required. Will cruise again however, the food kinda disappointed and shows were a little sub par compared to NCL. Will go back to NCL and see if Covid has changed their food and experiences. Open to Carnival again I just feel that they have cut corners a lot. Probably have too though with the amount of money they lost during the shut down. Still an enjoyable time. The crew worked hard and deserve our respect and investment in them.

Embarkation

Check in time was 9:30 started boarding at 11am. Filled out the VeriFLY app information…. They looked at it but STILL had to look at the actual documents. Stated it was a pilot program. So my advice… Bring your documents. Otherwise not was easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Didn’t eat at the buffet. Food overall was just average.

Diamonds Steakhouse

3 out of 5

Service was fine. I wasn’t impressed though. Better steak at Outback or ChopHouse.

Guy's Burger Joint

4 out of 5

Didn’t disappoint!

Onboard Activities

The shows “Flick” and “America Rocks” were both good. The latter was the better of the shows. Enjoyed the Piano Bar with Alejandro. Funny and entertaining. Didn’t part with my money in the casino. Used aft 18+ pool. It was less crowded and not much of a wait at the bar. Pizza line was long at times. Only did that once. They need to upgrade the water slides for the kiddos. Waterside dated compared to most ships.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was excellent. Kept bucket of ice full, kept room cleaned, made towel animals. What more could you ask for? Lol

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Staff worked hard at keeping ship clean. No complaints. Can’t complain about ship layout (it’s not like they can do anything about it). Elevator wait was VERY minimal. Overall a nice ship, just older design that is outshined by newer ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Aft cabin. First time in one of these. Balcony is a bit larger. Otherwise it’s identical to a regular balcony cabin. It was clean and no issues. Probably will stay more midship next time. The walk can get old. Lol

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself. No cruise is ever perfect.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

Took excursion to Blue Lagoon Island. Nice 30 minute boat ride to island. View of celebrity homes along the way. Lots of construction for new pier. If walking into town, take caution with the amount of work going on. Did the dolphin encounter. That was fun and a great experience. No camera allowed. (They want you to purchase their photos). Line too long to look at photos so didn’t purchase any.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Beautiful island although VERY ROCKY BEACH. Paid for a private bungalow which was nice. They provided chips and salsa, sodas and water, fruit, snorkel gear, and floats. Lunch was provided at no cost for everyone on the island. Alcoholic drinks are a charge. If you have Cheers package, it doesn’t work here.

Port Canaveral, Florida

New terminal is very nice. Terminal 3. Easy getting to the terminal. If you Paarl on level 3 you can walk straight into terminal from the parking deck. BUT when you get off the ship, you will have to take stairs or elevator up to that deck. The wait at the elevator is looooong!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It’s debarkation. What more can I say? You take your stuff and you get off the ship. Lol.
