Review summary

We took a weekend, 3-day cruise. We really enjoyed our time on the Liberty and this trip far exceeded our expectations!

Embarkation

Very smooth and quick! Practically no lines, walked right on. Very impressed!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We agreed that the food on this trip was the best out of our 4 Carnival cruises. We ate dinner in the MDR with your time dining. Service was always quick and every meal was great. Most everyone (except for us) was dressed for elegant night. We aren't buffet people but ate breakfast there one day and were really impressed! Seaday Brunch in the MDR is a must do and of course, Guy's was great as always. We visited the Steakhouse the last night and were pleased with our meal.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Music was good but I felt the activities were lacking compared to longer cruises. There just did not seem to be a ton of things going on like I'm used to.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were very impressed with service! I had Drinks on Us in the casino and was expecting to not really be able to use it because bar service is typically slow there but I was frequently turning bar service away because my drink was still full. Service elsewhere on the ship was awesome and we never had to wait long for a drink. We actually never met our steward but for a quick cruise that's ok. The stewards we passed in the hall all greeted us and were friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We commented early on that this might be the cleanest ship we've been on! Due to flu season and coronavirus, we made sure to wipe the room down with wipes. I immediately noticed that the wipes were not caked in dust or dirt, meaning that the room had been thoroughly clean before our arrival. We always saw staff cleaning while we were out and about. Once you get the hang of the layout it is easy to navigate the ship. I just wish fellow passengers paid attention to the maps and the arrows on the elevator! We also thought the decor in the atrium was really pretty. I didn't notice a sewage smell anywhere on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ocean view on deck 1, midship. This is a connecting room. It might not be too bad if your neighbors speak at a reasonable volume but we did not have such luck. We could hear everything this group was screaming. Their cabin was the meeting room for their group and it got too annoying during some points of the cruise. Bring ear plugs if you are in this type of room. The room was clean and a standard Carnival cabin. The view through the window was my favorite part, its a unique view so close to the water! This room is close to the elevators which is very convenient. I didn't find there to be any noise or odor from the laundry room directly across the hall from the room.

Ship tip

Tip a porter when debarking to go straight through customs!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We were there overnight and with 5 other ships in port at one point. It was a little overwhelming with the amount of people immediately in the port. We headed over to Atlantis for the day. We could not get bar service while in the casino to save our lives! The resort was clean and looked nice but I'm glad we didn't pay for a pass there.

Disembarkation

This is an area Carnival could really stand to improve. It really was a cluster trying to get from our room on deck 1 to the exit on deck 3. People are merging in from different areas, all with their bags, and no one really helping to direct traffic or form a line. Once off the ship we grabbed a porter and just walked through customs.
