We definitely enjoyed our onboard experience innaoiyebof the age of the ship and the lack of amenities you would find on the Magic, Breeze and Vista class ships. The brevity of this cruise means that the wasted day at Princess Cay is a real letdown. Be prepared to make the most of your shortened holiday.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The process at Port Canaveral is super streamlined and easy to navigate.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food on Carnival is always good. Do not expect high end quality but rather consistently good food. Please note that gluten free options are very limited especially at the buffet.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
This ship has not seen some of the entertainment upgrades that other ships have received. The pool slide is barely adequate and the hot tubs are always crowded. That being said, there are plenty of deck chairs, a great outdoor theater and lots of smaller venues to enjoy around the ship. The walking track was being updated with indoor/outdoor carpet and was partially blocked for the duration of our cruise in Jan. 2020
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The stage shows are ok. The live music is phenomenal. The cruise director was outrageously entertaining. We found plenty to enjoy by way of onboard entertainment.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Our son went to the O2 club and loved the staff. He enjoyed the opportunity to make some new friends and had fun playing sports with them.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staff is very attentive. It is apparent that they are overworked but really trying to remain positive.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship needs a retrofitting soon. Everything seemed to be in working order with exception of the walking track, but it is clearly dated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The size e of the suite was very comfortable. With an additional dressing room outside of the bathroom there was additional privacy for the three of us. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub and double vanity. The balcony had three chairs and two small tables. There were lots of extra storage nooks.
Ship tip
Don't forget your room deodorizer! You will be eating some rich foods and will want to mask the consequences.
Welcome to a beach with chairs. The food was terribly overcooked and there was nothing to do but lay out in the sun and possibly snorkel. This is not Coco Cay!!!
