The Liberty was exactly the cruise we were looking for - a no-frills, inexpensive extended weekend away from the pressures and realities of life. The ship was small, but felt cozy. The layout felt somewhat odd at times, but that made exploration fun. It was older, but renovated. The food was exquisite, and the staff was like family. While Nassau was a huge miss, we weren't looking to do things so much as just get away for a while and unwind - the Liberty was PERFECT for that. I would take this cruise again in a heartbeat.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Got there right at embarkation, got through lines, got on the ship with fairly minimal hassle. Rooms took a bit to become available but nothing obscene. Solid process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food on the ship was surprisingly good! Main dining was vastly superior to the buffet overall, and every specialty dining meal we had was a home run. We ended up hitting everything except Guy's Burgers (I know, I know, a travesty from what I heard AFTERWARDS, oops) and loving all of it.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The Liberty is a fairly small ship with not a lot on offer aside from bars, but that's okay. For a short cruise we didn't need a lot of entertaining, resting out on my balcony served just fine.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Pretty run-of-the-mill "Rock Show" in the main theatre, though the comedian on board was absolutely excellent.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone remembered us, remembered exactly what we liked, and bent over backwards to accommodate us - and we were just a standard balcony room! I was extremely impressed by the staff on the ship in pretty much every single interaction.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It's an older ship and it shows, but it's been nicely renovated and is kept fairly clean. Layout can be a bit confusing at times but by the end of the cruise we knew where we were going.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
It's a Carnival room, and a Carnival room on an older Carnival ship, and it shows. That said, the room was easily big enough to be comfortable for 2 and met all of our needs well more than adequately.
Ship tip
The Seafood Shack near the aft on the Lido deck is phenomenal! It's a la carte but everything we got there was scrumptious, we had a simply divine meal there.
Unless you want to go to Atlantis, there's very little to do here. We opted to not go on an excursion and were victims of an attempted mugging. Got to safety very quickly but not an experience you forget.
