Review summary

I was on the Liberty 6 months prior and this is my 3rd time cruising with her. This time I noticed a huge change in staff attitudes and service. I tipped our room steward WELL prior the leaving port and asked if I could have twice/day service. I asked him if this was ok or was I overworking him? He replied that he would be more than happy to provide the service. However, we NEVER received evening turndown. The bartenders at the aft pool and atrium were less than pleasant and actually reprimanded a few customers. The Alchemy Bar is a definite plus and Anca is a ray of sunshine on an otherwise dismal ship. I had read that there were few tv channels and initially that didn't bother me. But soon after departing, we heard about hurricane Dorian. There were no updates or info to be found and we were so stressed, since we lived in FL. The stringed violin players in the Atrium bar are a MUST SEE!

Absolutely LOVE the stringed players in the Atrium each evening. They are talented and definitely made our pre-dinner experience wonderful!

Service and Staff

The Alchemy Bar was excellent as usual. Guest services personnel were not as helpful as in past cruises. Only a few of the bartenders seemed pleasant or happy with their jobs. The dining staff was good.

I had this exact same cabin in October 2018. I chose it for its marvelous size and layout. However it was extremely hot this cruise. They sent environmental services to our room, who explained that it wasn't hot after checking. This is the first cruise where I have ever been very, very warm in the cabin. Finally on the final night, they provided a fan which helped.

Sine I'm new here and will be taking my first cruise in January I've noticed from different people that service on same ships varies. I was wondering if the attitude is based on the fact you have to pay gratuities upfront. Just wondering if anyone else sees that. Also as a traveler what can you do about it to rectify the situation? I wholeheartedly believe in tipping and will give additional for more deserving individuals however I don't feel its right to be forced to when you're treated badly for a service that you're paying for. Would love to hear comments. PS - I'm sorry that happen on your cruise.

If you’re from Florida you should’ve known that on the 26 August the storm was still miles and miles away seems like you are fishing for things to complain about
