Review summary

I gave more of a detailed review of above under the advice category. I think it's important to consider what you're looking for before you book. Maybe every short weekend cruise is as wild as this one, and I'm sure eventually will have an opportunity to figure that out. We prefer the 7-Day cruises and will probably stick with them because they are more our speed.

Embarkation

This was my first cruise on carnival. They have sections that you sit in and you have to wait to board. We waited probably 40 minutes after we went through the entire process at the port. For a small ship, it seemed like a long wait.

Ship Quality

This was our first carnival Cruise, and we we're on the ship for a few days, but it didn't seem easy to navigate with lots of dead ends and narrow passageways. I didn't really like the way it was set up, although the decor on the ship was beautiful and it's very ornamental.

Cabin / Stateroom

We booked an aft cabin with a huge wraparound balcony. It was fantastic!

Ship tip

this may be very particular to our experience. We booked weekend cruise to take some family who'd never been before but it was over saint Patrick's Day. The ship was one huge party with a lot of people inappropriately dressed given the fact that there's kids on the ship. We feel like it was a little bit too wild for our tastes. On the upside, the food was really good and we had an incredible aft balcony and a very clean room. I still say no matter what, there's no such thing as a bad Cruise. However, I also probably will not book Carnival on weekend ever again.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

This is probably one of my favorite parts. It's easy to get in and out of and there's lots to do around the area if you go in the night before.

Nassau, Bahamas

In this port we were on a sailing yacht that took us out snorkeling. It was a fantastic excursion and my family loved it.
