The staff made it perfect. They made the trip worthwhile. Other than that, it was just OK. Don’t feel like I really got my money’s worth. Ship was OK, food was OK, activities were OK. It was easy to get bored on the ship. But talking with the staff made it more than worth it.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was OK. Dinner was really good, but buffets were subpar. It took over a minute to fill a small glass with water because the machines would only let out a tiny bit at a time. ice machines rarely worked. selection of food was okay but not great. buffet seemed to be open at the weirdest times and closed too often.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
the Liberty is one of the smaller ships, i’d assume. since it’s used for trips that are only a few nights long. the pools were rather small but otherwise nice. one of the Serenity hot tubs never really got hot for some reason. couldn’t even figure out how to get to the mini golf. it was on the very highest part of the ship and you had to go through the basketball court to get to it. it was really hidden. and the court closed pretty early, so we never actually got to check it out. from what i could see it was very small though.
Entertainment
Wasn’t really interested in the shows that were offered. the DJs did well though.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff is the only 5 star part of the trip. everything else was okay but not great. but the staff made the trip truly enjoyable. I really loved how diverse it was, i spoke to so many people of so many different cultures and backgrounds. they were all so friendly. Uberney in the dining room is hilarious! loved listening to his stories during dinner. what a great guy. Ufuk at the alchemy bar was pretty great too, i loved his sense of humor. Hong is a sly salesperson, he had us buying souvenir shot glasses before we even realized we were, but we couldn’t be mad because of how sweet his personality was. I can’t remember her name, the sweet hungarian girl at the coffee bar was so pleasant. made great coffee too. the staff was all so fun and personable. if i were to ever cruise with carnival again, it wouldn’t be for the destination or the boat. it would be for the people. they really made it wonderful.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
ship was clean, but overall very outdated. VERY outdated. it was nice for the couple of days we were there, but it just seemed like the forgotten child of carnival. the screen with the map on it on the promenade deck wasn’t accurate until the last day of the cruise. it said we were in port canaveral for two days. i think it started working the night before we left nassau. the in room map channel was completely down until then too, just a black screen. the front camera kind of seemed pointless too, especially since most of it was just the windshield. you really couldn’t see much at all, it was facing too far down. and the toilets were terrifying! every time it flushed it made a very very loud slamming noise. the elevators were frustrating, they would pass right by the floor you were on. we ended up going several flights of stairs instead of wait almost 15 minutes for an elevator to actually stop on our floor. so overall the boat was okay, but not really anything special.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
i really liked the cabin actually. it was much larger than i expected and very cozy. loved getting to watch the ocean go by from our window. my biggest complaint is the bed. if you’re going to try to convert twin beds into a king, there’s gotta be some way to actually connect them. every night it was just one of us falling between the mattresses and each side being pushed out. there was no actual connection between the two. it was both annoying and uncomfortable.
Ship tip
don’t have super high expectations, just enjoy the trip. talk to the staff every offortunity you get, they’re wonderful. get the bahama mama, by far the best drink they have. and don’t bother with the casino. you’ll win money but won’t be allowed to cash it out until you’ve spent a couple hundred and have nothing left.
we didn’t do much here. we didn’t go on any excursions and we really didn’t leave the area directly surrounding the boat. locals were very pushy trying to get us to buy things but that’s expected. i think we would’ve enjoyed it more if we left the area.
That’s very annoying! I cruised on Liberty in February and also had witnessed and heard complaints of that same hot tub not getting hot so glad to know 3 months later Carnival has still not fixed this problem. I too thought the buffet on this ship sucked and seemed to be always closed!
