Review summary

This was my first cruise. It amazed me that everyone on the ship was so nice and friendly. The formal dinner was a bit of a let down though i had expected more for the extra fee that is charged.

The OP, or someone from the room, must have ordered one of the Steakhouse options, such as Lobster, from the main dining room menu. There is not an extra charge for formal night in the regular dining room as long as you order the normal items on the menu. There is an extra charge any night you order one of the Steakhouse options that are listed on the menu, but it says there is an extra charge if you order one of these items

I remember there was a special addition to the menu in MDR for $20 each selection, like lobster, but it would be your choice to order this or from main menu. No additional mandatory gratuity or fee for the formal or any other dinner.

There is a $20. Fee per room for going to the formal dinner. That is for each time you visit the dining room. The food is not that good. We would have rather went and got fast food.

Just curious what extra fee you were charged for the formal dinner as there's normally not an extra fee, or perhaps you're referring to a specialty restaurant.
