Review summary

Overall, a fun cruise.. drinks, the Blue Waves band, wait staff, food at dinner and the activities were all excellent.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was a smooth embarkation process, except for the following: We had 'Faster to the Fun,' and they had already called for 'Faster to the Fun,' but we had not arrived yet, so, we were not told when we arrived at the embarkation area that we could go directly onto the ship. Also, it took a long time before our luggage made it to our floor, and we had to grab our own from the central luggage area on floor 10.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Great cocktails (thanks to Anka and team at the Alchemy bar). The service by Haydee and Anthony at the Golden Olympian was exceptional! The food at dinner was excellent. The breakfast was hit or miss: pastries were the best I've had on a cruise. The French toast was tough, and the broken egg sandwich bread was tough/stale. The buffet was great, especially the Wok and the BBQ place. Guys had great burgers and hand cut fries. The Blue Iguana Cantina was disappointing: cold meats with fresh salsa and tortillas..

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The bingo was fun, although disappointing that they advertise a final $5K bingo round, and then, stipulate after starting that it had to be in 49 balls or less. Trivia was great! The art auctions were well done. The game shows were a blast. Wish that they had dance lessons onboard. Overall, it was a great experience.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Flick was the worst stage show that we had ever seen: the choreography was ill-performed, the transitions were strange (afro-circus from the Willy Wonka song comes to mind), the costumes were strange at times ('Time of my Life' costumes). The singing was uneven. The show was so bad that it demotivated us to go to the RockStars show later in the week. However, the Blue Waves, the violinists, the steel drum soloist were all exceptional. In fact, with the horn section, the Blue Waves may be the best band that I've seen on a cruise ship.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Putu was a good attendant. Haydee, Anthony, Isadralyn, were exceptional wait staff. Jyoti, Matteo, Jodie, Natassia, Sencia were all exceptional at the casino. Olivia was an incredible Trivia host. Cookie was fun as a cruise director. Austin was a fun bingo host.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
There were things left around the ship (fruit, drinks) for what seemed like days. There was always standing water on the Lido deck every day. Cherry stems found in our cabin when we first entered our cabin and my cocktail from first night was left in our room for entire cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great size, balcony was beautiful. Cleanliness was rough as mentioned above.

Ship tip

Need better show production quality and dance lessons on the cruise.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

Nice visit to Atlantis. No shore excursion.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Tendering took forever. Plus, the drink package was not included on Princess Cay, whereas other cruise lines, like RCCL, allow you to use their drink packages on their private islands.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy to disembark. We carried our own luggage off of the ship.
