Review summary

This was my first cruise and for the price and all the issues, I don't know if there will be a second! It definitely will not be with this company. It was hard to relax dealing with the maintenance both days and then the toxic paint fumes. I understand that some things have to be fixed, but the boat wasn't sinking so why do construction with guests on board? I have yet to hear from Carnival so we will see where this all leads. I left them the same review and I am really curious if they will address any of my issues. This may be an isolated incident but it has definitely left a bad experience for future cruises!

The filet mignon could not be cut with a knife, it just shredded like it was beat to death! My New York Strip was overcooked and had more fat and grizzle than meat! The burger bar....AWESOME!

We only had a pool slide and basketball courts, plus it was only a 3 day cruise and the weather did not cooperate!

Wait staff was great and very attentive. The guest services worked as any other hotel/motel, you are just a number to them. They decided to do maintenance in the middle of the cruise and woke our whole stateroom up at 8am 2 days in a row, then some genius decided they would paint. The fumes were so overpowering that we had to be moved to another stateroom. For all our troubles....we were given the dinner upgrade, which as I said earlier was terrible!

FAST!!! Use the porters once you are inside, they speed you through the whole customs process, well worth the tip to carry your bags!

Call carnival. Don’t just leave a review you will not get an answer that way. They may offer you a discount on your next cruise if your complaint is legitimate

Been on 23 carnival ships and never had a problem like this. They are always painting some things. They have to keep up with the maintenance or the ship will rust away from the salt air and water. Yes I have been on board and smelled the paint but it didn't last long. We just went to another place on the ship until they were finished painting in that area. As far as the food goes complain to the waiter and ask for a different one or order some thing different. They will bring you what ever you want.

EVERY cruiseline does maintenance on cruises... they have to. It cost tens of thousands of dollars a day to pull one of these ships out of service for maintenance. And ships need general maintenance daily. Sorry you didnt enjoy your cruise. But I dont understand your complaint about only having a pool slide and basketball court? You picked this ship and this cruise right? Didnt you research the ship and what activities it had? Btw.. it also has Shuffleboard, mini-golf, ping pong, a full gym, running track, video games, board and card game room, cassino, Dive-in theater movies at night.... comedy club, shows, dance club.. yes even for teens. Lol.

So sorry you had a bad first cruise. They are constantly having to do up keep and maintaining even during cruising with passengers onboard. This happens with all ships, not just Carnival. I agree, they should do without passengers on board but, their turn around is right away. We always try the newer ships to avoid mishaps. Hope you you give them another try, we have been on many and they are our favorites.
