Review summary

Next I would prefer when I ask about cabins that the travel absent listen to me and not assign us a cabin over the night club we didn’t sleep much

Book a cabin between passenger decks.

Always get a cabin on a deck between two pqdecks with passenger cabins. Yes, I would ask the travel agent for this, but check myself also. Cruiseadvice.org has reviews on my many ships--best decks and cabins. Each cruise line also has deck info. on line. We once were under the pool deck and it was noisy at night when they were dragging chairs and restacking them. Yes, I did know the location, but it was a good deal on a mini suite. Would not do that again.

Book it through the internet. You choose your room

I carefully book my cabin based on location. I'm a light sleeper and ALWAYS book the quiet floors. Our last cruise we had a neighbor who snored so loud we heard it through the walls. It sounded like Donald duck being strangled. Went on all 5 nights. Even heard him threw my earplugs. We just laughed about it. First time for everything.

In the travel agents defence they dont always know exactly where rooms are located unless the have a map of your particular ship and have floor plans. They can pretty much tell you your floor by category and number.

I had a PVP through Carnival I trusted and we booked 2 years in advance. We just got off of that cruise and didn’t realize it was under the galley! It totally sucked the last night. I got rid of her over another matter over a year ago; but ultimately, yes, it was my fault for not double checking the cabin location. I can take a lot of noise, but that was the worst. I have been under other traffic areas and it was never that bad. So, under the galley is the worst location ever! Some suggest ear plugs, but I’m not sleeping with ear plugs with kids in tow. Lesson learned... always check even if you trust your travel agent or Carnival PVP. Then again, you can book the perfect cabin and have a loud crazy neighbor. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You had final say on your stateroom unless you did a guaranteed room. As the customer, you have some responsibility in making sure you really get the stateroom and location you want.

This is why you need to look at deck plans when booking

Wow, I know what you mean!!! We were in room 7227 and had a horrible night on our last night. My husband got sick and being a responsible cruiser we didn't eat dinner in dining room or go to a show. We came right to our room and it was horrific noise. Not from the club but from the 10 PM show!!!! Mind you we were at least 2 decks above the theater but it was so loud in our room. What's strange is that we could walk out our door in the hallway and not hear it!!! So something was terrible wrong with that room.

May I ask, what was the cabin number?
