Before this last cruise, it had been almost 4 years since we last cruised with Carnival. After this last trip, I will never cruise again on a Carnival ship. Absolutely disappointing and a waste of money. Not a restful cruise vacation by any means. And to top everything off, the last night, early morning of the disembarkation, my husband had either food poisoning from the night before or some sort of a bug. Was violently getting sick for 24 hours afterwards.
Embarkation

The muster drill was unorganized and took entirely way too long.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food was mediocre at best. Sea Shack was majorly disappointing. 1 hour wait for the food itself AFTER waiting 45 min in line only to be told half the menu was not available. Anytime dining was ok. Alchemy Bar was the only place on the ship that was impressive.
Onboard Activities

Typical cruise activities...nothing that wowed us.
Entertainment

Comedian was funny.
Service and Staff

Our room steward was rarely around. Room was clean but would have been nice to have room made up more than just 3x the entire cruise. Typically it should be made up in the morning after you leave the cabin to go out for breakfast or lunch and then made up later in the evening for when you come back to the cabin to go to bed. Not the case on this ship. Shower wouldn't drain and overflowed all over bathroom floor. Had to use up all our towels and didn't get room refreshed until the next day! He was nice and friendly, but not accessible.
Ship Quality

Ship's layout was confusing and it certainly didn't help matters with 1/2 the elevators not working the whole cruise including during disembarking! Common bathrooms were gross and neglected. Pool deck area was nasty. Stepped on several press on nails that someone felt it was appropriate to pop off and spit out on the floor. They were at the same spot the whole cruise proving no one was cleaning the upper pool decks. At Guy F. Burger place witnessed employee take several dirty condiment cups that were laying on the bar (not in the pile of clean cups) and placed the dirty cups that others had handled back on top of the clean pile. Disgusting and a germ spreading situation. Norovirus starts with those kind of practices. A friend on the same cruise actually found used, fake eyelashes in her bathroom stuck in the garbage can in plain sight. And lastly I still haven't figured out what and where this awful egg, sulphur, methane gas smell was resonating from. In the hallways in front of our cabin, and in elevator vestibules constantly throughout the entire cruise. Smelled like raw sewage.
Cabin / Stateroom

Size was nice, balcony was nice, beds were super uncomfortable due to the gaping, sagging mattresses in the center of each. Clearly needing to be replaced. Cabin was clean but shower didn't drain and kept overflowing. Reported but was never fixed. And lastly the noise. I am not sure what area was above us but the banging and sliding noise like rollers going up and down a tile floor above us went on all throughout the night.
Ship tip
Normally I'd say you get what you pay for. Cheap cruise but this was a whole different level of uncleanliness and dissatisfaction.
Completely disorganized and chaotic. No structure and started trying to get off the ship at 9am. Finally at almost 11 was getting off the ship and being herded into the terminal where we waited again another hour easy. Have never waited this long on any other of the 24 cruises I have been on. Never was so happy to get in my car and leave the port.
