Review summary

The cruise was really good. If you're looking for something family friendly, probably not the greatest, although the kids did have a good time in Camp Ocean. This was most certainly a party cruise, and seemed to cater to all ages of party goers. Food was great, frozen drinks were a bit weak, but I think they do that for those that purchase the drink plans (we did not). Ship was clean although a bit older. Great first cruise for someone who is looking to save money and see if the cruise vacation is right for them. Next time we may spend a bit more money and find something a bit more family friendly and upscale.

Definitelt a party ship, Certain areas of the ship (Lido Deck around pool) were not exactly family friendly during the afternoons when there was a DJ. Inappropriate dancing for children.

We took an excursion to Blue Lagoon Island and loved it. The US state department had Nassau on a list of increased crime, and since we have young children we decided not to stick around the city. Blue Lagoon Island was gorgeous and as close to a natural Caribbean island as you can get. Lots of fun activities as well.

You have stated your experience perfectly. Best cruise line to start with is carnival. Called the "Fun Ship" for a reason. As your likes or family arrangements change you may want to try another line. It's always a great adventure.

Thanks for sharing. The price is right for us on carnival, even though we don’t drink much. We can afford a balcony and enjoy the main dining room and just relax. There is a lot of partying tho! Maybe try a Disney Cruise. All the best!
