Review summary

Unfortunately I was sick (just extremely exhausted) 2 of the 4 day cruise. When I finally got up and around it was time to leave. 1st time cruisers definitely need at least a 7 day cruise. We missed our only score excursion waiting on a wheelchair. A bit disappointed in lack of help from staff. As if they forgot there are 1st time cruisers. Our room steward was FANTASTIC even though we had no idea what services he performed. Our bedding was never changed. ALWAYS unpack, this is something we didnt do and do not overpack which I did. It was a learning experience. And now I am likea sponge...scouring the internet and becoming a HUGE fan of Cruiseline.com and Cruisetips Tv. Looking forward to our 2nd and 7-day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas in December 2018.

Just a word of caution for planners and cruising.... ANYTHING and everything can happen on a cruise. Planning is great, but its best to go into cruising to be prepared to just go with the flow. The weather and ocean is what it is, you can miss ports, get into ports late, pop-up thunderstorms delay or interfere with excusions, etc. Pack light, pack flexible, relax and take the time to just watch the ocean and enjoy the wonder of being at sea. If you approach cruising as an adventure, you will ALWAYS have a great cruise! 😀

Excursions are over priced when you book them through the cruise line. My family always waits until we walk off the ship. Their is always passenger vans waiting to take you around for a lot less than you pay on board.

I am watching so many videos. Yay You Tube! I want to be as prepared as possible for this upcoming cruise. I know alot will come with experience but I'm a planner so Im taking notes...lots of notes. Not sure that we will take an excursion with so much to do on the ship, but its not written in stone right? Some excursions are available when you get into port right? 6 months away and very excited. Is it too soon to pack? Lol

I agree, the first time is overwhelming, especially if you try to do everything.

Sorry that your first cruise wasn't the great vacation that you had hoped, but I'm glad that you are giving cruising a second shot.

You should try Princess Cruises, especially the Regal Princess.
