Review summary

This was our first cruise, the experience was great, will do another one in the future.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Was very organized. Staff was helpful in giving directions on where and when to go. We bought the Faster to the Sun package and were on the boat very fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food and drink were okay. Our main dining room experience was good. Didn't have to wait long for the food and good chance to mingle with the other guests at our table. We enjoyed the oysters at the Seafood Shack:) We found the buffet lines to be very long sometimes and was a challenge sometimes to find a place to sit down to eat. Definately didn't go hungry or thristy on this trip.

Pool Bar

4 out of 5

The staff at this bar were very friendly, always remembered our names and our favourite drinks. They said my husband always made their day with jokes and laughs:)

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did alot of R&R, enjoyed the hot tubs, laying in the hamocks, spent some time and money in the casino. We didn't use the elevators much, instead did a lot of walking. Checked out the gift shops, took lots of photos Took in the art auction one evening. Purchased the Chef's Table and were fed some awesome food. It was amazing when we did the kitchen tour, is unreal with what and how many people work in the kitchen supplying the awesome food on the ship.

Czar's Palace Casino

3 out of 5

This was a happening place in the late afternoon and evenings. The staff were friendly and didn't have to wait long for our drink orders.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We took in a couple of the stage shows, they were great. We enjoyed the comedy acts as well.

Children's Programs

No children with us on this trip.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We really appreaciated the hard work that the waiters, room stewards and other personnel do. They work hard for their money and were also friendly, helpful and also asked if we needed anything.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship's layout and design were nice. Lots of signage. Using the Carnival HUB is a must. It took us a few days to get the layout. We did a lot of walking up and down the ship's levels, my husband didn't want to use the elevators, sigh..... one day I think we did over 14, 000 steps. LOL

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a beautiful room, lots of space, didn't feel closed in. Lots of storage and plug ins. The room was very clean and had turn down service twice a day. Loved the towel animals each night:) Enjoyed sitting out on the deck and feeling the sea air. Bed was very comfortable as well. Lots of windows to look out too.

Ship tip

This was our first cruise and we will do it again. It was very busy, albeit it was during peak season at Christmas with lots of people. We were glad that there was a section for adults only - Serenity.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
We didn't do any excursions at this port. Flew in and spent one night in hotel and then headed straight to board ship.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
This was a nice port to wonder around. The main street shops were open but other streets the stores were closed as it was Christmas. The streets were decorated nice with Christmas decorations. Notice that some of the sidewalks were uneven and had to keep an eye as not to trip and fall. We did not do any excursions, shopped around for gifts and ate at a balcony bar overlooking the busy streets.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
We decided at last minute to go to this island, as we had planned to stay onboard this day and just relax. The boat ride over was quick and organized. We were amazed to hear that the ship's staff had to load up food and drinks and bring onto the island. Alot of hard work. The buffet line was long and the bbq was okay. Was nice to swim in the warm water and walk the beach with the sand in our toes. Not much of a shopping experience, only a few stores (that we could see anyway). We didn't do any excursions.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We had no trouble with this experience. Everything went well, was organized and staff was helpful. Again because we had purchased the Fun to the Sun package it didn't take long to exit. Well worth the money:)
