Review summary

I am a platinum cruiser with Carnival; however, this is probably going to be my last cruise with them, it is really apparent how they're going downhill.

Embarkation was super easy. We arrived at our scheduled time and proceeded to the VIP check in, wait time was hardly any time at all.

I was disappointed with the room service. At the beginning of the cruise we were asked to select if we wanted the room serviced once or twice per day. We chose to have our room serviced in the morning. The room appeared to be dirty when we arrived, the bathroom counter was sticky and everything looked dingy. I was not pleased. We did enjoy hanging out on the balcony and watching the sunset and rise, beautiful.

The Christmas decorations were stunningly beautiful, and overall the ship was clean, but our stateroom was not up to standards, we were on deck 10, balcony room.

The cabin was well designed with great décor; however, the room was dingy and dirty. The room steward did not do a good job cleaning the room. When we checked in the bathroom counter had sticky stuff everywhere.

Honestly, notifying the steward or guest services seems like the completely obvious thing to do, even for the first time cruiser...makes me doubt this platinum status...why did she need to preface her statement with that anyway? Just makes the gripe seem sillier.

Did you notify your cabin steward of the issues, and if not corrected notify guest services? ANY ship can have an errant employee who is being slack on their duties... I have not had an issue left unresolved once I gave them the notification and opportunity to correct it.

And in the time you spent fuming about a sticky counter you could of gave it a quick wipe over. Some people just have to b complainers.

Sound like the dirty cabin was you only issue. If you didn't like it you should have spoke up and told them you were dissatisfied. I'm absolutely sure it would've been taken care of. To say your not cruising anymore, well I think that's absurd. Especially with your platinum status. Here's another thing, if you didn't speak up about it, then your partially to blame as well. They can't fix it if they don't know it's broken.

Perfect waste of platinum status....sounds a bit dramatic...if the room was dirty on arrival, tell the cabin steward or call guest services..your "status" would've led to a quick resolution.

Would of not been a issue with the cabin i would of called guest services and had it cleaned as it should of been cleaned in the first place .. your paying for a service if you don’t get it then you have every right to complain.. but not cruising again please ...they ask on every carnival cruise if you want your room to be serviced once or twice a day .. just ask for both then you have clean towels and ice etc .. its just something that should of been handled straight away i would not put up with a dirty cabin ... plenty more ships for you to try but !! if you have the same problem again are u going to let it spoil your cruise...????
