Somewhat Disappointed

Sail Date: September 11, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

The Carnival Liberty was okay but we were definitely spoiled having taken 2 previous sailings with Royal Carribean. The difference in pricing was very evident. Attention to detail, especially in the dining area, was lacking. There were areas that were not consistently open which detracted negatively on the overall appearance within the dining area. On our balcony, there was room for 2 chairs. However, in the corner was 2 additional chairs and a table stacked out on our balcony which made it difficult to get out to the balcony. And there was more room on the Royal Carribean vessels in their balcony areas.

Pros: Cabin was very nice. Shower and bathrrom was best seen to date.

Cons: Would appreciate more open lines in the buffet. Scrambled eggs were watery. Sometimes the bacon was well done but most of time was close to raw. The blue cabin towels were really nice except if you took and used them in the swimming area and didn't bring them back to cabin, you would be charged

Recommends Carnival Liberty? Yes!

Ship Quality
When we first boarded, the larger swimming pool had no water in it. Everyone was asking, why not? It was filled by the first day of sailing.
Food and Dining
We opted for the coke pass for over $50.00 for a week times 3 family members. Then, we were told we had to pay additional charge if we wanted a "covered mug". This was a little much!!!
Cabin / Stateroom
Shower and bathroom was far better than Royal Carribean. More room and much more functional.
Entertainment
Was okay but didn't come up to par with Royal Carribean.
Service and Staff
All were excellent except Dining room staff was average.
