Review summary

The Chef's Table was the highlight of our trip, seconded by the Ensenada wine tour which we all enjoyed very much. Like an old classic car, the ship was dated and aging but the on-board crew worked very hard to keep it gleaming. If you're looking for a fun family adventure, this cruise can accommodate. If you are looking for the newest, high tech nature based ship, try another cruise line. We had a fine time.

Embarkation

The shore staff are my only complaint. Upon arrival, the baggage collectors complained about their amount of work and their under payment. So we carried our own luggage aboard, which was okay, I guess. When returning the shore staff were rude and bossy. "You can't stand there," is what I got as I waited for my mother to catch up to me in the dome to head home.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The chef's table was the highlight of our trip. We all enjoyed it very much. The food was good in the dining room and buffet, no complaints.

Onboard Activities

Our cruise director, Savana worked really hard to keep us all informed - she did a great job. I liked the fitness center.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The show I attended was pretty basic, like a high school production. The comedians were pretty good.

Children's Programs

We have no children but it looked like those there were pretty happy.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service and staff on board were always courteous, professional and accommodating. You could tell they were trained differently than the shore staff.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Tiniest suite I've ever seen. It was just like a regular state room except that it had a very small, narrow balcony.

We just rented a golf cart and drove around Avalon and had lunch there. It was fun. I enjoyed all of the shops.

Ensenada, Mexico

This stop was so much better than I expected. We took a wine tour of the Guadalupe Valley, which was really impressive. We all really enjoyed it.
