Review summary
We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise - recommend it to families and party-seekers but not couples seeking a romantic get-away.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The only reason I am giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because there were only a few free drink options. If soda were included this would be a 5.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There were many activities, however they, for the most part, did not interest me. I was very happy enjoying the sea and reading a book, however, so I was not disappointed.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I was disappointed that, for a family cruise, the entertainment shows had inappropriate attire (the women wearing bras as shirts) and had swearing in the songs.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
We had a 14, 16, and 17 year old with us. If they would have been allowed to all be together in a teen club they would have enjoyed participating. As they were separated by age into two different groups, they did not utilize the teen activities since they would have had to be split up.
Service and Staff

Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was clean for the most part, however there were some stains on the carpet in front of the staterooms and our ocean view window was very dirty. I was impressed, however, by the cleanliness of almost all of the public areas of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I was happy that our family of 5 could all stay together in one room. It was close quarters, but we knew that was how it would be and were just happy to be together. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the storage options as well as the attentiveness of the cleaning staff to every need we had.
Ship tip
This is a party ship, so expect a party atmosphere with many children. It was perfect for our family, however if you want a romantic cruise, this is not the one to choose.
This was not very enjoyable, although there was a typical shopping street only for tourists to buy the typical Mexican souvenirs like Mexican silver, Mexican leather, and traditional clothing. We did not need to exchange money, which made it easy. We went zip-lining which was a great family experience, however this was not booked through Carnival as they did not offer it and we had to take a taxi to the location. Our taxi ride of 1/2 hr went through very poor areas of Ensenada so we were thankful to see the "real" and not "tourist" areas as part of our Mexican experience.
