Review summary

Great short cruise for a quick break with an interesting stop in Ensenada.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The new Long Beach terminal facilitates quick processing and boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good food, wish the Blue Iguana was open longer.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Smaller ship still has lots to do.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Many of the individual performers were outstanding. The cruise director Ben made all the events he hosted fun and entertaining. Kemar the piano guy and Sam were both fantastic.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
5 stars for room stewards, 4 stars for wait staff and bar service. Carnival has done better in the past.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Familiar with ship class but some may not like the layout. Could use fresh decor. The theme is a little too eclectic, but ship was clean and good repair.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Adequate size and room stewards were excelent keeping it clean. Though two floors below the main lounge could still hear music though it didn't affect my cruise.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
No excursion, but did Queen Mary on our own. Enjoyed the paranormal tour and feel it was worth it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Just as efficient as embarkation.

Took my two grandsons on this cruise in 2015--it was a Christmas gift. They were 12 and 13, the first cruise for both of them--they loved it!!! The Waterworks slide and Circle C were their favorites. We were on the Imagination.
