Review summary

I could not believe how dirty our room was. I put my hand down on the desk area and it landed in a sticky mess. Not sure what it was! There was small chunks of old food on the little triangle table. Mirror and glass shelve in bathroom looked like if it had been wiped down it was with wiped down with a very dirty rag. Under our bed was a dirty washcloth. There was certain areas dusted and others I wrote my initial in. The bathroom floor was sticky and looked filthy in the corners of the shower and the actual floor. I realize this is an older ship but steam clean the bathrooms occasionally and do a detailed cleaning of the rooms occasionally too. We almost left before we even began the cruise but between the refresh of the room by the staff and my personal cleaning we decided to stay. If we try Carnival again I would bring some cleaning supplies with me. Carnival should be embarrassed.

I feel sorry for the room attendants who have to clean and turn over the rooms within hours. Last time I cruises I asked my room steward how many rooms she has and she said 45. Blame carnival for making it tough on the stewards... But I always do take bleach wipes and clean myself. Just too many germs on the ship...

I have never encountered a dirty room on carnival and if you do you room steward should take care of it right away. Joanne was ours on the last cruise she was awesome.

Not a good start to your cruise! We have never encountered a dirty room in all of our cruises. I do take Clorox wipes and wipe EVERYTHING (and I pretty much mean everything) prior to touching anything or unpacking a thing. Have only gotten sick once, coming back from Cozumel.
