Our First Cruise

Sail Date: February 03, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was great. The service was wonderful as well. We really enjoyed our waiter and head waiter as well as our cabin steward. The food was pretty good, although some dishes could have been cooked a little better. If you order steak, make sure you get one cooking degree less than you really want (order rare if you like medium rare, and medium rare if you like it cooked medium). The steak was really good and so were the deserts.

Pros: We loved snorkeling in Grand Cayman and climbing up the waterfall in Jamaica

Cons: I was very disappointed when they were not able to tape the Carnival Legends show because of a mechanical malfunction. I was in the show and really looking forward to having a unique souvenir.

I would recommend not booking a tour with the cruise. When you get off the ship, you can book whatever you want, and it will be cheaper. The snorkeling was really fun. I would also recommend getting a taxi to Seven Mile Beach. A taxi will bring you to a nice part of the beach where you can relax, and you'll pay a lot less than if you were on the excursion.
Don't Miss: snorkeling and Seven Mike Beach
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Climbing up Dunn's River Falls was a lot of fun. If you do it, either get a taxi to take you or sign up for an excursion. Don't take a bus. Some people on our bus had to wait about 45 minutes for the bus to fill up and it just wasted their time, plus it was the same price as the excursion. It really depends on whether you get the nice port or the industrial port because the nice tourist port has a lot of taxis and the industrial port gets all the buses.
Don't Miss: Dunn's River Falls
