I will not cruise Carnival again. I will not recommend to my friends and family. That is how my overall experience went.
1. There was a very somber vibe going on with majorly of the staff.
2. The waiters and bar tenders treated you differently once they realize you had the bottomless bubbles pkg. Literally their vibe shifted from a smile to a disappointed or aggravated demeanor & look once you ordered a non-alcoholic beverage.
3. Trying to find lounge chairs was near impossible. Seemed allowed to save space with towels which should've had a time limit on being present and seated.
Embarkation

Boarding went smooth. We did wait a while for our luggage.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main was hit and miss on service. Some great. Some hated their job or us. Food was good. It's a shame that we were unable to be served the soft drinks that we pre-purchased during our dinner. Instead we were instructed to go to the bar to get those drinks. They offered us to purchase soft drinks and they would serve us while we dine. Ridiculous and should be illegal! Terrible experience! The food is the only reason I rated a 2 instead of a 1.
JiJi Asian kitchen was the best food and best service received on the ship.
F55 Steakhouse - service was okay. Ordered steak med well and it came with zero pink, overcooked, dried out causing it to be a very tough steak.
Buffets had good food.

Not enough interesting live entertainment.
Children's Programs
No kids aboard
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Inconsistent service with the waiters. Some were great but majority were not pleasant.
Excellent room stewards! Thankful for that otherwise the entire trip would've been a terrible experience.
Ship Quality

Nice layout and design. Elevators should allow guests to command a new door while doors are still open. There should be software programming to reroute traffic to the next instead of everyone waiting for the same elevator which cannot hold everyone. Also instructions should be given on how to use the elevators because it seemed to cause mass confusion and frustration. The ship was well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

Good comfort, size, cleanliness, and room positioning.
Ship tip
Sail RC instead! But if you proceed - Do not buy the endless bubbles drink pkg!
1. Late calling the first group. 2. We came down a couple of minutes before they called our muster station, which was late btw since we were the first to exit, and the woman tried to send us to the waiting areas which meant we would be stuck waiting for the elevators when they called us.
Well on RC the circumstances really won't improve as much as you may think. Yes, Carnival does have the worse6 soft drink package out of all the cruise lines. They could charge 20 bucks more per day and add coffees and milkshakes like TC and make a fortune from families
Our December cruise on the Horizon was awesome in every way possible including the dry chicken wings from the pig and anchor bar, no cooking or cleaning for 8 days and the entire crew were phenomenal, they treated us like family, actually treated us better than family.
Unless they shared this with you personally, I don't think it's fair to state the employees hated their jobs and you. Something tells me their attitudes were most likely a reflection on you.
Sounds like post pandemic cruising might not be for you. Was just on the horizon this past December and did not see any of this. The staff was the best Iāve ever had on that cruise
The drink packages are a scam for sure. Not during dinner, not in the room, not a can but only from the fountain and so on. I wouldn't buy an such package. What's worse is Carnival only has ill-tasting Pepsi drinks!
Perhaps you should smile and be nice to the servers you feel were angry.... ask them where there from etc... misery loves company, sounds like you may have invited their emotions to your emotionsš¤·āāļø
