Review summary

So happy to be cruising again!! The Horizon is beautiful and my family of four loved it! 40% occupancy was amazing too! The service was wonderful! MDR food was delicious. Sea day brunch was amazing. Buffet was meh, besides breakfast. The water slides and pool were nice and not very crowded. Our ports were changed from the original itinerary but I was thrilled with the new ports.

We enjoyed the comedy show most, if not all nights. One of our favorites!! We enjoyed the love and marriage show, and a couple of the big theater shows. We watched a little bit of some “movies under the stars”. I was disappointed in the karaoke venue. It was at Guys BBQ. There is NO seating there. It should be in a theater or larger venue. The ship is big enough to give karaoke an appropriately sized venue. I really missed watching it. We LOVED LOVED the skyride, sky course, HUGE foosball- big enough for 4+ players, mini golf, ping pong, etc. So many places to play. We never made it into basketball, but it looked fun!

Children's Programs

My kids were in Club O2. (15-17 year olds) This wasn’t their best cruise as far as kids club- decreased occupancy, meant less kids to hang out with too. There was more drama than normal, and kind of had some bullies. It didn’t seem like the kids club kept them entertained enough, so they’d venture out together. Basically the whole club stayed in the hot tub constantly. (Not my kids, but they missed out on that connection) They normally enjoy the kids they meet. Not too much this time. We had great family time though, because of it.

Ship tip

Check open/close times! I was shocked that some things closed so early. Serenity closed at 7:00!! That’s the time of day we mainly get to check it out! Bummer, for sure. Then, of course some lunch venues close earlier than I’d expect.
