Review summary

My first Carnival cruise and, unfortunately, my last. Wasn't at all what I expected and, while I loved the ports we went to, I was very underwhelmed by the ship itself. The food was universally terrible, seemed like no matter where we went or what we had it was all bad. I'm not a fussy eater at all and usually like everything (probably why I'm so fat) but I didn't care for any of it. The evening shows were good and I loved the outdoor spaces on the ship but was very turned off by the "fun squad" activities. We tried a couple early in the week but it seemed liked they all ended with some shirtless guy twerking with a toilet plunger on his head or something equally classy. I thought the cruise director (Dustin) was incredibly hoaky, it was like a satire of what a cruise director would be. I don't know, I just don't think I'm a Carnival kind of guy. It's a shame, I was really looking forward to it.

What? I don't understand, what did I make up? The other cruise? I'm not sure what you mean. When my cruise ended I lost my feed and couldn't see what my shipmates thought of their trip or any of their pictures so I had to select a future cruise in order to see it. I chose the same ship and the same ports so that my feed wouldn't change. I still see Miami, Grand Cayman, Roatan etc... I don't know if that's what you're referring to, nothing at all about "getting my name in the conversation. I don't even know what that means.

I don't have another cruise booked, I just had to do that to keep my feed going. I loved the ports we went to and like to see other people's pictures and hear what they did. Probably another way to keep it going but this is all I could figure out. Dixie this was our first cruise period. I would be willing to try a different line but my wife has sworn she'll never go again. Maybe someday I can sway her. We've been together over 30 years and I like fishing but she likes football. I like clams and steak and she likes spaghetti and pizza, I like old movies but she likes new tv shows. Wow just wow she should go to bed at 8 o'clock with the scooter people because she doesn't like what I like. Don't take it personal folks, not everybody likes the same things.

Yea I had a couple of guys burgers but I didn't really like them. It's funny because the first couple bites were great but then it got kind of gross, don't know if it was the grease or what. I should have just tried a plain patty because it seemed like the meat was good. Burgers are my "go to" at home but I wasn't thrilled with Guys. My wife liked it though. I had a great steak with my steak and eggs at brunch ,the omelettes at the buffet were good plus the melting cake and the Caesar salad from room service were the other things I liked. Oh and the pizza was ok but didn't have any toppings on it. The rest of what I ate just wasn't good. Couldn't wait for the lobster and prime rib (my two favorites ever) but they were both bad. I was hoping for Red Lobster quality at the very least. And, yes, I understand Carnival is the party boat but I've never been to a party, club, or bar where people behaved the way they did on the ship. Everyone was just trying to be more outrageous and over the top than the person next to them. I love to let lose, dance, and have fun. That just wasn't my idea of fun, different strokes for different folks I guess.

Did you miss out on trying Guy's burger joint? I'd be shocked if that was universally horrible! I could go for a pig patty and a ringer right about now.

I went on carnival in 2013 and had a great time. I was told that Carnival is not as fancy as some of the other cruise lines but if your looking for fun and a reasonable priced vacation just to get away then Carnival is the way to go.

Try Holland or Princess. Nothing will be going on after 9-10pm. Everyone is asleep or recharging their scooters for their 4am wake up.

We have been on Carnival, Holland America and Princess. Carnival could use some improvement, Holland is great and Princess is great too. Holland has the best food hands down. Princess has the best pizza on the ocean.

Try Holland. Folks on their ships are in bed by 9:30-10pm. Plenty of activities for mature crowd. Viking, Fathom cruises also they retire early but 100 day cruises.
