We had a great time, Carnival Freedom ship was great, food, entertainment -anything you want is there. Just know that it's a whole lot of walking so mobility is so important. Our only complaint was the temperature in our room -we froze the entire time. no way to regulate the temperature.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We were exhausted getting on the ship with all the walking, we did not know about the assisted embarkation but we took advantage of it for the debarkation. They take your luggage for you and swiftly move you thru the TSA and then the walk into the ship is a lot for older folks.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Carnival Freedom Posh Restaurant was the best ! Wait staff was so attentive. The buffets were ok, I never saw any seafood on it but maybe we didn't go to the correct side of the ship, we decided after day 2 we just ate at Posh.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We did the pool and whirlpool on the rainy day while most went to Dominican Rep. otherwise the pool was too busy. We watched the lobby shows and theatre shows. Comedian show was hysterical. They have all types of activities for kids, Bingo for the older set and music everywhere!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were great, Comedian Sebastian was hysterical. Cruise director & entertainers were great!
Children's Programs
No children in our party
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was terrific. Our steward, Pande was so attentive and Bonn & his team at Posh restaurant were the best!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
All design works, just a lot of walking for older folks! But the ship has a lot to do and see.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The suite was beautiful however FREEZING COLD and no way to adjust temp. We sat in robes, blankets whenever inside the cabin. We asked how to turn off the thermostat and we couldn't. Pande kept it spotless for us, the balcony was our savior to thaw out.
Ship tip
Just prepare to be patient, there a lot of people of the ship, ask for help with anything, they are so willing to help make your stay great. Just know that floor 5 is the floor that goes end to end. Casino, shops, etc. Floor 9 is buffet, pools.
It was pouring rain so we stayed on the ship but we could see they had assistance in getting down the long deck to the beaches. The sand and water were beautiful.
We did the open air trolley tour. Small island so it's a short ride through narrow streets and stops at Museum and lighthouse. Donkeys come up to you. Trolley speaker kept going out in the 2ns car so we couldn't hear all the info along the way. Very commercial at the port..beaches are beautiful.
