Review summary

Disappointed and will try not to sail with Carnival again- no rewards for being a loyal cruiser, less options for food and entertainment, one of us got food poisoning and three more have tested positive for COVID since we arrived

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Had very long wait times to get tables, food choices were limited, long lines for buffets and lido deck food. Now they charge for room service and seems as personnel are short staffed.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Less activities than before, cruise director was ok and night shows were not good. Bad singing, not a lot of outfits or lights and last nights show was sad - everyone sitting on a stool singing out of tune.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Less activities than before, cruise director was ok and night shows were not good. Bad singing, not a lot of outfits or lights and last nights show was sad - everyone sitting on a stool singing out of tune.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Seems everyone was short on staff - bars and dining rooms had long waits, food took hours to get out of the kitchen, coffee was cold, ice cream machines and coffee stations closed often…cabin only cleaned once a day.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Didn’t notice as many people cleaning - also smoking areas were open and the entire lobby and ship and corridors smelled like smoke/cigarets

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was not set up properly and had to ask cabin cleaner to re arrange beds - in general she did a great job cleaning and refreshing towels etc

Ship tip

Not what it used to be - disappointed

I meant to ask... no perks for being a loyal cruiser? uh, yes you do get perks. I'm 2 nights from diamond and get perks. my aunt is gold and gets perks, heck my friend has only done 2 and gets perks

I know a few people on Carnival Freedom right now and they are having a great time, Sorry about the food poisoning. That’s a real no no on any ship, but no matter what ship you’re on it will be hard to avoid COVID. Not too many people are wearing masks and I really think they help.

COVID definitely affected the service industries, not just the cruise liners.

Lots has changed since covid, services, quality, quantities, prices... Etc.

cruising has changed since the restart. most of not all lines have cut back, charges for room service etc. covid will always be around forever, you could've gotten it on an island for all you know
